Samsung announced on January 15 that it will release a GamePad (EI-GP20) and premium wireless speaker (EO-SB330) in Korea.

Online games make up nearly 86% of the Korean games market, but mobile games have recently increased their share. Samsung introduced the GamePad in line with this trend.

The Samsung GamePad can be used on any Android 4.1 phone with a display between 102mm and 160mm. It can also be used by connecting the device to a TV or a computer monitor through an HDMI cable at home. This model solved problems related to the previously launched mobile game controller, which included a complicated device connection process and problems with accessing games.

With built-in near field communication (NFC), the GamePad can be connected to a smartphone with a single touch. Since the device can be interlocked with a mobile console and Bluetooth by pushing the PLAY button, users can play games right away.

The mobile console is a launcher app for mobile games, which shows specific games optimized for the GamePad, and therefore users do not need to search for games that are available.

In addition, people can play or buy mobile games developed by internationally-recognized companies such as Com2Us, Sega, EA, and Gameloft, without additionally purchasing a new gaming console or game pack. The GamePad is sold at 85,000 won (US$80.07).
