Kia Motors’ media event at the North American International Auto Show 2014 kicked off on January 13 (local time).

Before unveiling its GT4 Stinger concept car, the company gave out popcorn and beer to the visitors. After the show started, quizzes relating to the casting for films like Gran Torino, Kill Bill, and the Matrix were shown on the screen. Then, Kia Motors America Executive Vice President of Sales Tom Loveless came onto the stage and said, “The California Design Center of Kia prepared this event for those who prefer a show like a film preview.”

The GT4 Stinger is the 10th concept car of Kia developed by the design center. It comes with a 2.0 turbo GDi engine, a six-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive, and 315 horsepower. It has the tiger nose grill unique to its line, too.

“We unveiled this model as another design icon that takes the baton from the Soul,” Kia Vice Chairman Lee Hyeong-keun explained there, adding, “We will make a decision as to mass production after checking the market response.”
