Part of Efforts to Win Nuclear Plant Order
KEPCO Engineering & Construction (KEPCO E&C) announced on Feb. 26 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Nuclear Research Institute Rez of the Czech Republic (UJV Rez) on design and research of nuclear power plants.
KEPCO E&C explained that it has established cooperative ties with UJV Rez, which will serve as the base for localization when it receives an order to build a nuclear power plant in the Czech Republic.
KEPCO E&C has been working with UJV Rez as part of its efforts to win a nuclear power plant project in the country.
According to the MOU, KEPCO E&C will carry out technical cooperation and joint business development for the safety improvement of nuclear reactors in Korea and the Czech Republic, technology cooperation for new nuclear power plants, and mutual workforce and technology exchange for each research field for new nuclear technology development.
KEPCO E&C will continue to strengthen its partnership with local nuclear organizations in the Czech Republic for exports of Korea’s nuclear power technology.
