Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc. are showcasing their latest digital signage products at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2019, the largest commercial display trade show in Europe.

Samsung is showing off its 8K ultra-high definition quantum dot light emitting diode (QLED) signage display, with LG countering with its transparent organic light emitting diode (OLED) panel. The two companies' fierce battle for the leadership in the ultra-high definition TV market has been extended to the commercial display sector, which is dubbed the fourth screen, after TV, PC and mobile.

Samsung Electronics announced on Feb. 6 that it would unveil its 82-inch 8K QLED Signage display using its quantum dot technology which supports 8K resolution (7,680 H x 4,320 V/33.2 megapixels) at ISE 2019, Europe’s largest commercial display trade show that takes place in Amsterdam of the Netherlands from Feb. 5 to 8 (local time).

The 8K QLED signage features several 8K-ready enhancements, including Real 8K Resolution and Quantum Processor 8K, delivers100% color volume and performs at a peak brightness of 4 000 nits and HDR 10+ functionality. With such an innovative image quality upscaling technology, Samsung Electronics allows consumers to enjoy vivid content at stores without producing HD content with high costs.
