Nexen Tire announced on Jan. 21 that its Roadian MTX has won the “Good Design” award in the transportation category at the U.S. Good Design Awards.
Good Design awards are presented annually by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies in a total of 25 fields, including electronics, transportation, furniture, computer, and architecture. Winners are selected through a comprehensive evaluation of various products of global companies.
The Roadian MTX was highly evaluated for captivating users’ tastes and sensitivity with a distinctive design, characterized by unidentical designs on the right and left sidewalls. Nexen is the first Korean tire maker to apply such a design concept.
In addition, the Roadian MTX was exclusively designed for sports utility vehicles (SUVs) on and off roads, with noise generation minimized.
Meanwhile, Nexen Tire is planning to expand its R&D centers in Germany and the United States, while opening a new central research center in the Magok Industrial Complex in Seoul in the first half of this year.
