Global communications marketing firm Edelman announced on Jan. 17 that Christine Park, executive director of Edelman Korea, has been selected to serve as a jury member at the upcoming 2019 APAC Effie Awards, which will celebrate some of the best accomplishments in the marketing industry on March 6 in Singapore.
Edelman has been selected as digital agency of the year for campaigns in Asia, according to the Holmes Report. The company said it believes insights offered by affiliates such as United Entertainment Group (UEG) and Edelman Intelligence (EI), which specializes in media monitoring and data analysis, have contributed to business expansion and helped showcase its strengths as a global agency.
Confirmed as jury members for the 2019 APAC Effie Awards are Christine Park, executive director of Edelman Korea and five other Edelman executives: Adrian Warr, managing director of Edelman Hong Kong; Melinda Po, managing director of Edelman Shanghai; Thien Thanh (TT) Nguyen, CEO of Edelman Vietnam; Rupen Desai, vice chairman of Edelman Brand Asia-Pacific; and Papri Dev, COO of Zeno Group.
Edelman Korea’s Christine Park joined the agency in 2015 and, merged Brand and Digital, rebranding the two practices under the umbrella of Edelman Digital Korea. Over the past four years, the agency has seen rapid growth under her leadership, with sales expanding 350 percent. Park also established EDK Lab – an in-house digital trend research unit – and hosts an annual digital showcase. Her leadership in driving developments and innovation was well received. Park took home the “Innovation of the Year” award at Campaign’s Women Leading Change Awards 2018 after being recognized as one of Campaign Asia’s “Women to Watch” in 2017.
The Effie Awards celebrates its 51st anniversary this year after launching in 1968 and is a renowned global award recognized by advertisers and agencies as the global standard of marketing effectiveness excellence. “The Effie Awards spotlights some of the most talented creative minds in how they use a variety of marketing communications efforts to maximize their marketing effects.” Park said. “At Edelman, we continuously look for ways for our clients to solve problems, collaborate, and act with certainty in their decisions. I’m looking forward to seeing some of the most novel approaches in promoting a wealth of different brands and being inspired by all the projects that I encounter during the selection process.”
