A Car with Four Wheeled Legs
Hyundai Motor Co. has released a teaser image of the "Elevate," a concept car with four wheeled legs that will be fully unveiled at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 to be held in Las Vegas on Jan. 8.
An official from Hyundai Motor explained, "The concept car Elevate, which was developed with robotic and electric car technologies, is a new concept of future mobility that breaks the current meaning of transportation." The Elevate was developed by Hyundai Cradle, an open innovation center of Hyundai Motor Group.
The car can freely use the wheeled legs to move on dangerous terrain, a feat that conventional means of transportation cannot perform.
Hyundai decided to explore new possibilities of future mobility through the walking car Elevate that redefines the concept of mobility. At this coming CES, the company will show the miniature prototype of the Elevate for the first time and announce its vision and strategy for future mobility.
