Suwon Convention Center to Open Next April
Suwon City announced on Dec. 20 that it will establish the Suwon Convention and Visitors Bureau to foster the MICE industry as the Suwon Convention and Exhibition Center is slated to open next April.
MICE is a term coined by combining the first letters of meeting, incentive travel, convention and exhibition. It refers to a combination of industries including international conferences, exhibitions, operation of convention centers and tourism.
The planned Suwon Convention & Visitors Bureau will hold events such as exhibitions and international conferences at the Suwon Convention and Exhibition Center to attract visitors and promote Suwon to the world through various marketing projects.
The bureau will be officially launched in April, coinciding with the opening of the Suwon Convention and Exhibition Center.
Meanwhile, the Suwon Convention and Exhibition Center is a five-story building with two basement levels and a total floor area of 97,602 square meters. It is located in Gwanggyo New Town in Suwon.
Suwon City has already attracted domestic and foreign events such as 'Asia Pacific MICE Business Festival (APMBF) 2019,’ '2019 South Korea Youth Fair,' '2019 Korea Emergency Society Autumn Conference' and '2019 Korea Chemical Society Spring Conference' and others to the Suwon Convention and Exhibition Center.
