First Tizen

GSM Arena announced on December 25 (local time) that Samsung Electronics’ smartphone SC-03F, running on the Tizen operating system, appears to have obtained Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification.

Industry experts are predicting that the SC-03F will be a smartphone looking similar to the Galaxy S4, but equipped with the Tizen OS instead of Android.

According to the document available on the official website of the FCC, the product is 69.1mm in width and 136.1mm in length. The figures are not much different from the specifications of the Galaxy S4.

However, Samsung Electronics has mentioned nothing about whether the product is the Tizen smartphone or, if so, when it will be put on the market.

For now, the world’s first Tizen phone is expected to be released in the Japanese market first via NTT DoCoMo.
