Samsung Electronics announced on Dec. 18 that it has installed more than 700 smart signages in the new airport in Istanbul, Turkey.

Istanbul New Airport had a first-stage opening ceremony on Oct. 29 and is scheduled to send out flights to 350 cities around the world. It is an extra-large airport that can accommodate 200 million people per year when the construction is completed to the fourth stage by 2023.

The smart signages installed in various places in the airport, including check-in counter, passport inspection area, waiting area, and baggage claim area, will efficiently inform the global travelers about information on arrival and departure of flights and baggage claim. The installation area of LED signage totals up to 1,012㎡, making it the world's largest airport area of LED screen installation.

In addition, a large 194㎡ LED media wall was installed in the departure and arrival areas for international flights.

The newly installed Samsung smart signages are equipped with light reflection preventive panels suitable for the indoor environment of the airport to provide ultra-high definition (UHD) quality bright image and information around the clock. The signages also received an IP5X grade dust proof certification, which indicates that it has secured product quality for durability against dust and foreign matters in an area with a lot of floating population.

Meanwhile, Samsung has provided smart signage to Incheon International Airport Terminal 2, which opened in January, and Dubai International Airport, United Arab Emirates.
