Global Startup Competition

Four South Korean startups, which were incubated by the Creative Economy & Innovation Centers, will participate in “SLUSH 100,” a startup contest hosted by Europe’s largest startup conference SLUSH.

Four South Korean startups from the Creative Economy & Innovation Centers – VPIX Medical, BA Energy, SB Solution and Doctor's Fab – have been selected for “SLUSH 100,” a startup contest hosted by Europe’s largest startup conference SLUSH.

The companies, all incubated by the Creative Economy & Innovation Centers, will have a Demo Day competition with startups from across the world with an aim to become the top 4 finalists beyond SLUSH 50.

Three out of the four chosen for the SLUSH 100 are healthcare companies. VPIX Medical, led by CEO Hwang Kyung-min, has developed a subminiature fluorescence-based medical microscope. The company produced the product based on the optical biopsy technology that can run bioscopy tests in real time. SB Solution also has developed an implantable wireless biometric measuring device that can help reduce pain and financial burden of the patients who got an artificial blood vessel transplant. Doctor's Fab will introduce a real-time medical IoT device and monitoring service.

BA Energy will show the Energy Wall converging the insulator and solar power energy technologies. The product can improve energy efficiency of buildings with an exterior wall insulator and generate electricity with solar power.

In addition, the nation’s eight more startups – SB Solution, F&D Partners, Seoul Robotics, Victoria Productions, GomiLabs, Toun28, Bisecu and Caret Games – will have an individual exhibition at the event through the selection of SLUSH. They will be given a chance for promotion at the front line where global investors, conglomerates and startup related organizations gather during the exhibition period.

The global start venture program is managed by four Creative Economy & Innovation Centers in Gyeonggi Province, Incheon City, Seoul and Daejeon City and jointly participated in by 11 centers across the country, including those in South and North Gyeongsang provinces, Gwangju, Daegu, Busan, Sejong, Ulsan, South and North Jeolla provinces, North Chungcheong Province and Pohang, to help domestic startups with outstanding performance enter the global market.
