Set to Penetrate Australian Market

Ahead of establishing a subsidiary in Australia, SsangYong Motor participated in the National Dealer Convention & Expo 2018 held at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre in September this year.

SsangYong Motor is set to launch its flagship models, including the Rexton Sports, in the Australian market.

To penetrate the Australian market, the carmaker will set up a subsidiary in Australia, its first overseas sales corporation, in December, the company said on Nov. 28.

SsangYong plans to expand export markets for the Rexton Sports to the Middle East and Africa in the first half of next year.

The automaker showcased its main models, including the Tivoli, the G4 Rexton and the Rexton Sports (local name: Musso), in the Auto Mundo, a motor show in Ecuador in October and the CADAM Motor Show in Paraguay in November.

In addition, it launched the Rexton Sports in Chile in September. At the launching event held on Chiloe Island on Sept. 25, representatives from the local media and local car dealers showed much anticipation for the Rexton Sports that has the advantages of both SUVs and pickups.

"Since the successful launch of the Rexton Sports early this year, we expanded into Europe in the second and third quarters and are now eyeing the Latin American market in the fourth quarter," said Choi Jong-shik, president of SsangYong Motor. “We will expand our global sales by steadily launching our current and new models in overseas markets, further cementing our reputation as an SUV powerhouse.”
