Recognized for Ethical Leadership

LG Corp. has been included in the list of the global top 20 companies in terms of "social return on investment."

LG Corp., the holding company of the LG Group, has made it to the list of the global top 20 firms in terms of "social return on investment (SROI)," a new corporate valuation index.

The new index was jointly developed by Harris Poll, a U.S.-based public opinion survey company, and Finn Partners, a marketing consulting firm.

They applied return on investment (ROI), one of the measurements of corporate performance, to social value practice to produce SROI. They calculate points based on citizens' perceptions of companies’ ethical leadership, civic consciousness, and values pursued by them. Harris Poll had interviews with 25,800 men and women aged 18 and over in the United States to grade companies.

In the evaluation, LG Corp. won 79 points out of 100 and jointly ranked 13th on the list. Among companies not headquartered in the U.S., LG Corp. placed second only to Germany's largest supermarket chain, ALDI. LG Corp. also became the only Korean company to make the top 20 and was the only Asian company among the top 20.

LG also came in 25th, outclassing Samsung, Apple and Sony in the 2018 Corporate Reputation Index announced by Harris Poll in March. At the time, Samsung ranked 35th and Hyundai Motor 56th.
