Space Info Road Show in Laos

Cho Man-seung, vice president of Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corp. (LX), answers questions from local reporters in Laos at the Space Information Road Show held in Vientiane, Laos, on Nov. 7.

Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corp. (LX) is a state-run corporation that offers cadastral survey services and various cadastral spatial data. The corporation, which was selected as an excellent company for shared growth by the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport last week, also helps Korean spatial information companies advance into Southeast Asia.

LX announced on Nov. 7 that it held the annual Space Information Road Show for Overseas Advancement with 18 Korean spatial information companies in Vientiane of Laos from Nov. 5-7.

The event, which was attended by about 250 local government officials and experts, featured a technical seminar, exhibitions and business meetings. During the event, LX signed an MOU with the Laos government to strengthen cooperation between the two.

This year's road show was participated by 18 Korean private companies with excellent spatial information technology.

On the first day of the road show, Korean government and LX officials visited the Land Bureau of the Laos Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport to discuss joint projects in the field of spatial information between Korea and Laos.

On Nov. 6, officials from the two governments held talks on cooperation. An MOU was signed between LX and the Land Bureau of the Laos Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The technical seminar was attended by officials from the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, eight Korean companies, and the Laos Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

In the morning of Nov. 7, one-on-one meetings were held between five Laos governmental agencies and the 18 Korean spatial information companies.

In the meantime, the space information road show is an annual event which has been held by LX since 2013 to support Korean companies' overseas advancement and promote related industries.
