To Launch Commercial Blockchain Services

Kakao has forged an alliance with nine partners for its "Clayton" blockchain service platform.

Kakao Corp. announced on Oct. 22 that it has forged an alliance with nine early partners who will provide commercial services on its blockchain platform called “Clayton.”

In the game field, it is planning to work with WeMade Entertainment Co.’s subsidiary called WeMadeTree to create blockchain-based game content.

In the content field, it is going to work with Fiction Network, a company that connects creators and users of webcomics and web novels, and HINTtchain, a personalized food recommendation service.

In addition, it will work with sports simulation platform Sportsplex, personal data exchange Airblock Protocol, beauty social networking services Cosmo Chain and game crowdfunding platform Vetta.

Its partners also include Human Scape, a site that records health data of people with incurable or rare diseases, and Rayon, which makes counter proposals to loan applications.

Along with them, Clayton plans to operate a pilot project and start formal service during the first quarter of next year.
