Media review specialist startup “The Edit” compared the performance of cameras on the latest smartphones from Apple and Samsung Electronics in a video titled, “Comparison of iPhone XS vs Galaxy Note 9 camera for low light level.”
The video first shows a photo of the outside scenery at the time of sunset taken with the iPhone XS Max and Galaxy Note 9. The company zooms in two similar-looking photos and shows that the iPhone XS Max displays small details of the dark areas in the photo, while Galaxy Note 9 does not show details in the dark areas. However, the editor added that users who do not usually do the post-work on their photos may prefer the photo taken by Galaxy Note 9, which shows a clear contrast between the sunset and the darkness.
The pictures taken indoors clearly showed the characteristics of the two cameras. The iPhone XS Max photos were presented in more realistic colors, while the Galaxy Note 9 photos tend to be more colorful.
In addition, the video also compared the performance of the microphone and the image stabilization function of XS Max and one previous iPhone X. The iPhone XS Max supports video stereo recording, which transfers a clearer voice and less shaking than the iPhone X when recording while walking.
