A salesperson of GM Korea was found to have intercepted a total of 500 million won (US$400,000) from 26 car buyers, and the police started an investigation on September 13.
He is also suspected of offering to sell the used cars of the new car buyers and taking the money from the sales.
The suspect is known to have sold more than 300 vehicles last year and known as a sales king in GM Korea.
Meanwhile, after the new vehicles were not released and the suspect was out of touch, the victims formed an online meeting and filed a complaint with the police.
Incheon Bupyeong Police Station will try to contact the suspect and ask him to accede to the investigation, but if they cannot reach him, they will issue an arrest warrant.
Meanwhile, a GM Korea spokesperson told BusinessKorea that the suspect was not a formal employee of GM Korea but an independent sales agent, and that discussions on compensation for the victims would be held later.
