Focusing on Thermoplastic Composite Materials
Samyang Group has begun to make a foray into the global automotive lightweight materials market.
Samyang Corp. announced on September 10 that the company participated in the China Composites Expo 2018, Asia's largest composite material industry exhibition held in Shanghai, China from September 5 to 7.
Samyang Corp. set up a joint booth with Korean companies including the Carbon Fusion Industry Research Cooperative. The joint booth showcased various types of thermoplastic composite materials that combine carbon fiber and engineering plastic such as UD tapes, organosheets and carbon–long fiber thermoplastics (C-LFT).
In particular, Samyang Corp. drew many visitors by presenting a car sunroof frame made of C-LFT developed through its own technology.
"Samyang Corp. will develop a variety of thermoplastic composite materials to meet the needs of our customers and stably provide them at reasonable prices," a Samyang Corp. official said. "By doing so, we will focus on global markets for materials for automobiles, household appliances and industrial parts."
