Building Strategic Brands

LG CNS has started brand building in seven strategic areas, including smart factory, IoT, blockchain, smart city, robot service and smart energy.

LG CNS is pushing to nurture its newly developed technologies, including smart factory and blockchain, into strategic brands in a bid to lead the future information technology (IT) market.

On August 22, the company disclosed a plan to build its own brands in seven key areas -- smart factory, IoT, blockchain, artificial intelligence, smart city, robot service and smart energy.

LG CNS is planning to build a brand for each of its platforms in the seven areas, including the smart city platform “Cityhub,” IoT platform “INFioT,” big data platform “DAP,” and robot service platform “Orot.”

“INFioT” has a meaning that it can “infinitely” expand. It is an all-round platform compatible with more than 40 IoT standards. The robot service platform “Orot” comes from a Korean word which has a meaning that it is a complete root without any deficiency. It can control various types of robots, such as guide, cleaning, and security robots, by interlocking with IT systems of organizations and companies providing a robot service. “INFioT” and “Orot” can also be used by interlocking with AI big data platform “DAP.” DAP enables visual data analysis when a customer uses the cloud. It can also make a use of AI-using new service development environment.

As “Cityhub” running with “INFioT” and “DAP” can collect data from all of the city areas and provide a service, smart city can control all of these through an integrated management.

Energy management can be covered by energy solution brand “Enerdict.” The name comes from two words, “energy” and “predict,” with a meaning that it accurately predicts the trend. “Enerdict” can construct renewable energy and energy storage system (ESS), including solar energy, wind energy, and fuel cell, and also interlock with DAP.
