It has been found that Samsung Electronics’ UHD TV products accounted for one half of the European market in just three months from their debut.

According to market research firm Gfk, Samsung Electronics recorded a volume-based market share of 48.3% in October in the European market, 15 percentage points up from a month earlier.

The company released 55-inch and 65-inch UHD TV products in Europe in July this year. In particular, its products took up over 40% of the market in Germany and France and more than 60% in Britain, Switzerland and Denmark.

The remarkable performance can be attributed to Samsung’s aggressive marketing in those regions, since it unveiled a variety of UHD TVs at the IFA 2013, the largest consumer electronics fair in Europe, which took place in Berlin in September this year.
