Most Innovative Tech Brand
Samsung Electronics has made the top five world’s most innovative technology brands in five consecutive years. However, this year's ranking is three notches down from last year.
According to the industry on August 9, Global Keys, a US IT-specialized market researcher, placed Samsung Electronics fifth in the “2018 most innovative technology brand” list. Samsung has been included in the top five since 2014, but the ranking went down from a year earlier. Samsung Electronics ranked second in 2014, third in 2015, fifth in 2016, and second in 2017.
The survey was conducted by asking 4,628 US consumers to name top companies based on technological innovations. Samsung Electronics is the only company included in the “top five” in the last five years based outside the US.
Amazon topped the list again, while Apple and Google each ranked second and third. Netflix outpaced Samsung for the first time by ranking fourth. Instagram transformed the list by ranking eighth, while Facebook, which suffered from the data privacy scandal, fell off the list.
