SK Telecom and KT announced on July 24 that they would launch their home2car services to allow users to control their vehicles conveniently at home via voice commands.

Their home2carservices empower users to control their vehicles at home through SK Telecom's smart speaker "Nugu" and KT's smart speaker "Giga Genie." The services were applied to Kia's "Sportage The Bold" for the first time and will be available in Hyundai Motor's "Tucson Facelift" which will hit the market next month. The services will be applied to all new vehicles to be released by Hyundai and Kia in the future.

A driver can use the home2car services to start, stop, open, lock, turn on emergency lights, honk, set temperature and start and stop charging electric cars. For example, if a drive says "Set the internal temperature at 20 degrees Celsius" to the smart speaker in his or her car, the car will be ready to run by starting and adjust the internal temperature on its own.

Home2car services have expanded smart home services into cars going beyond homes.
