LG Innotek has completed a full lineup of light emitting diode (LED) products for plant growth.

LG Innotek announced on July 5 that the company built a full lineup of light emitting diode (LED) products for plant growth. They are a light source that helps plants grow better than sunlight.

Plant growth LEDs are a state-of-the-art semiconductor light source that can control the growth of plants and increase nutrient content by generating light of specific wavelengths. LG Innotek used a characteristic that physiological response such as photosynthesis and blooming changes according to the wavelength of light. The company has secured more than 30 kinds of plant growth LEDs with various wavelengths and light outputs.

LG Innotek is expanding the promotion of LEDs for plant growth for lighting and module companies in Europe, North America and Asia.

According to market researcher Yole Development, the plant growth LED market is expected to quadruple from US$ 100 million last year to US$ 400 million in 2022. With the expansion of smart farms and indoor plant factories, the market is expected to reach US$ 700 million by 2027.

LG Innotek plans to launch a 730nm near-infrared LED this year.
