The state-run Korea Energy Agency (KEA) has launched “Team Korea,” a unified brand for all types of its activities aimed at supporting the global expansion of domestic energy companies.

Last year, the agency helped Korean small and medium-sized companies attain 63.4 billion won in exports by providing export-related support to them.

The agency’s overseas expansion support activities include a program aimed at facilitating renewable energy producers’ entry into foreign markets; Korea Energy Show; support for Korean companies’ international cooperation; the operation of a private-public consultation body; and a program designed to enhance companies’ ability to win overseas projects.

The Team Korea has been created by the KEA to support exports of domestic energy-related firms in cooperation with the government and relevant authorities.

Lee Sang-hong, acting chairman of the KEA, said, “We hope that the new brand name for global expansion support projects will greatly help domestic energy companies enter the global market, including developing countries which has a great growth potential.”
