New ITU Standards

The National Radio Research Agency (RRA) announced on December 1 that four technical papers submitted from Korea were adopted as ITU Recommendations for the Telecommunication Standardization Sector at a meeting of ITU-T Study Group 13 held in Kampala, Uganda, on November 15.

According to the RRA, International Telecommunication Union (ITU) members have agreed to adopt the three proposals as new standards (ITU-T Recommendations) at the meeting, including the functional architecture of content delivery in smart ubiquitous networks on cloud computing, functional requirements for mobile IPTV, and an energy-saving recommendation for using smart objects in home networks. In addition, the N-Screen service scenario was approved as a supplement. The voting procedure for the international approval and publication of the recommendations has also started.
