Car Consumer Satisfaction Ranking

Last year, Hyundai and Kia Motors were named the brands with the highest increase in customer satisfaction ratings.

According to automobile industry sources, Hyundai and Kia cars scored the highest jump in all brands reported in JD Power’s 2013 US Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) Study. Hyundai Motor scored 677, up 27 from last year while Kia scored 661, up 33. JD Power’s SSI is a report that creates a consumer index based on evaluating various factors such as dealership locations, performance, and level of customer satisfaction from buyers and non-buyers. It is the single most important study that measures the sales performance of automobiles in the US market.

The score increase of Hyundai and Kia cars are attributable to close contacts with local customers and the strengthening of the dealership network.  This year’s Hyundai and Kia sales network consisted of 1,594 dealerships, up 12 percent from the 1,427 in 2008.  Exclusive dealerships selling only Hyundai and Kia cars also increased to 1,277, up 30 percent from 984 in 2008.  This year’s top scoring brand in the US market was Mini (718), followed by Buick (694), Chevrolet (686), GMC (686), Hyundai (677), Volkswagen(677), Fiat (674), and Honda (672).
