Expanding Sea Routes
Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) will launch a new express container liner service between major ports in China and Australia in August.
The company announced on June 11 that the new service, dubbed A1X, will be provided in cooperation with its partners, Evergreen and APL.
HMM has thus far provided services by leasing freight spaces of global shipping companies such as Maersk, MSC, ONE and Hamburg Sud. The A1X service is going to be provided based on five panamax container ships, two from HMM and the rest from Evergreen and APL.
The ports of call are Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The Hyundai Supreme of Hyundai Merchant Marine initiates the service on August 17 by departing from Ningbo.
