Ahead of Apple
Samsung Electronics ranked No. 1 in brand evaluations by consumers in major Asian countries for seven consecutive years.
According to related industry on June 6, Hong Kong-based communication marketing company Campaign Asia Pacific and public opinion survey company Nielsen placed Samsung Electronics first in the recently released Asia's Top 1000 Brands.
The survey was conducted in 14 countries -- Korea, Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam from March 16 to April 11. The survey asked people about their most trusted brands in 15 industries.
"The Galaxy Note 7 ignition case and a scandal surrounding the management did not weaken Samsung Electronics's immense popularity," the report said. “In particular, its brand strategy that pursues "social good" paid off handsomely.”
In the survey which entered its 14th year this year, Samsung Electronics merely stood at 17th place in 2004, the first year of the survey. But Samsung Electronics has never missed the top spot since 2012. Apple, a competitor of Samsung Electronics, came in second, and Panasonic, Sony, Nestle, LG Electronics, Google, Chanel, Nike and Philips were among the top 10. Among Korean companies, LG ranked sixth as it did last year.
