Targeting Genome Analysis Market

Macrogen
Macrogen has established a subsidiary in Singapore to expand its genome analysis business.

Macrogen announced on June 5 that the company established Macrogen Asia Pacific, a local corporation in Singapore.

Macrogen Asia Pacific is Macrogen's second corporation in Asia, with the first one operating in Japan. The new corporation is located in Biopolis, a biomedical research park in Singapore.

Macrogen opened a local office in Singapore in November 2016. After one year of conducting market research and networking with local organizations, the company established a subsidiary and is currently giving the final touches to the establishment of a genome analysis center.

Macrogen plans to put a spur to expanding its business in the genome analysis market in Southeast Asia with the establishment of the local corporation. In particular, the Korean genome tech company decided to actively participate in large-scale genome analysis projects conducted by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research of Singapore and local hospitals.

"We are going to make a full-scale entry into the Southeast Asian market with our Singaporean corporation as a key base," said Moon Ji-young, president of Macrogen. "We will respond quickly to regulations and customer needs in Singapore through the state-of-the-art genome analysis center."

Macrogen is a precision medical biotechnology company that provides genomic information analysis and diagnostic services to research centers, researchers and consumers among others.
