A Boost for Korean Contractors
The Korea Overseas Infrastructure and Urban Development Support Corporation (KIND) will be officially launched next month. The KIND is designed to support Korean contractors in each stage of their business, ranging from developing infrastructure projects to fund raising and direct investment.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on May 10 that it would decide on the appointment of executives, stock issuance, the approval of its articles of incorporation, the location of its office among others at a projectors general meeting for KIND to be held on May 11.
The KIND supports all phases of construction projects including the discovery and development of a project, development, fund raising, and direct investment, and serves as the leader of the private-public order winning council based on technology and financial expertise.
Nine organizations which invested in the corporation -- the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), the Construction Guarantee, the Korea Eximbank, KORAIL, Korea Expressway Corporation, Korea Water Resources Corp.Incheon International Airport Corporation, the Korea Airport Corporation, Korea Rail Network Authority-- will participate in the general meeting and make the final decisions on matters concerning the establishment.
