While financial authorities said that they would fix wage systems of financial companies, it has been found that CEOs of major financial companies received one billion plus won per person in annual salaries last year.

Yoon Jong-kyu, chairman of the KB Financial Group, collected 1.702 billion won (US$1.53 million) in annual salary last year, according to business reports of financial companies released on April 2.

Cho Yong-byung, chairman of the Shinhan Financial Group, earned 1.140 billion won (US$1.02 million) last year. In addition, Wi Seong-ho, president of Shinhan Bank received 2.090 billion won (US$1.88 million) in annual salary from Shinhan Bank and Shinhan Card.

The annual salary of Kim Jeong-tae, chairman of the Hana Financial Group hit 1.242 billion won (US$1.11 million) last year. Ham Young-joo, president of KEB Hanah Bank got paid a total of 1.068 billion won (US$961,000) by KEB Hana Bank and the Hana Financial Group.
