Four years ago, GS Engineering & Construction (GS E&C) won the Doha Link Project, worth 165.71 million Kuwait dinars. The purpose of the national bridge construction project is to connect the Shwaikh Port in Kuwait City to the Kuwait Entertainment City.

The Doha Link Project has a total length of 12.43 km, divided into a 7.72 km-long offshore bridge and a 4.71 km-long onshore bridge. The bridges have eight lanes, including emergency lanes. Once the construction is completed, traffic jam between Kuwait City and Al Jahra is expected to be reduced to a large extent.

The project kicked off on December 30, 2014 and is scheduled to be completed on December 30, 2018. Three interchanges, the Doha Peninsular Road, a 5,220 m-long west bridge, a 600 m-long main bridge, and a 1,900 m-long east bridge are scheduled to be built along with three buildings for bridge and traffic management purposes.

The Doha Link Project is the first offshore bridge and road construction project GS E&C won in Kuwait. Earlier, the company won the Doha Metro Project in Qatar. This shows GS Engineering is successfully increasing its presence in the Middle Eastern infrastructure construction market.
