LG U+ Corp. announced on March 14 that it will exclusively provide the broadcast circuits for the UHD pictures to the country's three terrestrial networks, KBS, MBC and SBS, during the FIFA World Cup in Russia in June.

The company said it will connect its broadcasting center in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, to the International Broadcasting Center (IBC) in Moscow, Russia, with 500Mbps undersea fiber-optic cables for the 2018 FIFA World Cup events and establish stable communication network support system to prepare against possible accidents and incidents, including earthquake, by securing two dual 500Mbps spare cables across the regions.

In addition, LG U+ will establish a dual monitoring system between its broadcasting center in Anyang , South Korea and the IBC during the 2018 Russia World Cup events, a two-way data communications networks and a systematic system that can prevent homes from suffering unexpected broadcasting events, including monitoring for broadcasting emergency around the clock and supports.

LG U+ was able to provide the broadcast lines exclusively, as the company has secured the stable international communications networks using its undersea fiber-optic cables and has technology to build optimal broadcasting systems as well as the experience in successfully conducting the broadcasting for various international and domestic events such as the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014, London Olympics in 2012 and Guangzhou Asian Games in 2010.
