It has been found that Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors are continuing their popularity in the Russian car market.
According to the Association of European Business (AEB), Kia Motors and Hyundai Motor Company sold 17,795 and 13,434 cars in the Russian market last month, up 44% and 43% from a year earlier, respectively. They came in second and third behind Lada, which sold 27,401 during the same period.
Last month, the total demand in the market rose 24.7% to 133,177 while the sales growth rates of Kia Motors and Hyundai Motor Company surpassed it.
At present, Kia Motors’ and Hyundai Motor Company’s shares in the market are 13.4% and 10.1%, respectively. In other words, the Hyundai Motor Group accounts for approximately one-fourth of the total sales in the Russian car market as the largest automobile manufacturer in the market.
Last month, the Kia Rio was purchased by 8,979 local customers to remain the most popular car in Russia. For the first two months of this year, 15,561 Russian customers opted for the Kia Rio. In February, it was followed by Lada Vesta (8,456), Lada Granta (6,861), Hyundai Solaris (5,937) and Hyundai Creta (4,600).
