The Special Force VR, which will be launched by KT and Dragonfly, is expected to become the world’s first 5G-based and completely wireless multi-VR game.

KT announced on February 21 that Dragonfly and itself would unveil the Special Force VR at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, which kicks off in Barcelona, Spain on February 26.

The Special Force VR is expected to become the world’s first 5G-based and completely wireless multi-VR game. Developed by Dragonfly, the Special Force is a first-person shooting game that has a lot of fans around the world.

At present, first-person virtual reality games require wired headsets as well as PCs, batteries, and so on. However, the Special Force VR can be enjoyed wirelessly based on KT’s VR Walkthrough technology for direct video transmission from PCs to smartphones. KT’s anti-juddering technology is also applied to the game for a higher level of user comfort.

In the meantime, KT is going to accelerate the development of 5G-based realistic media content by opening VR game station VRIGHT with GS Retail. Likewise, Dragonfly is planning to supply more and more 5G content through its cooperation with KT so that a large number of users in different locations can enjoy the same content at the same time. The two companies are going to seek joint global business opportunities via this year’s MWC, too.
