It has been found that Netmarble recorded the third highest revenue among app publishers in the world including Apple App Store and Google Play Store last year.
App Annie, a mobile app analysis company, said on January 31 that Netmarble claimed third place on the list of the top 52 publishers in terms of combined paid downloads and in-app purchases in both app stores from January to December last year.
In addition, NCsoft (12th), Gameville (24th) and Kakao (51st) made the list as Korean game companies. Tencent and NetEase of China ranked # 1 and # 2 in app sales worldwide.
NetMarble's “Lineage 2 Revolution” and NCsoft's “Lineage M” placed 4th and 8th apps in the world in sales last year.
In terms of users per month, KakaoTalk nabbed first place in all app categories and Coupang ranked 1st in shopping apps. The first ranker among financial apps was KB Bank’s Star Banking. Who Who, the first ranker in the lifestyle app category, Twitter in the news app category, MelOn in the music app category and Naver Webtoon in the entertainment app category.
