There are rumors that Samsung Electronics will release a premium smartphone with a 4-inch screen early next year. According to U.S.-based investment information provider Valuewalk, anonymous sources said Samsung Electronics is getting ready to produce the Galaxy S9 Mini.
It reported that Samsung Electronics will additionally launch the mini version of the Galaxy S9 with a smaller display while announcing the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus in March next year. The Galaxy S9 Mini is rumored to have curves around the edges and less than a 5-inch display. However, the model name can change before the time of launch, according to a foreign news report.
There were buzzing rumors that the mini versions of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S8 would be released before the launch but they haven’t come to the market in reality. Therefore, it is still unclear that the Galaxy S9 Mini will hit the market. However, there is a good chance that Samsung Electronics will release the Galaxy S9 Mini as part of its strategy to target the niche market as there have been no smartphones with a 4-inch screen in the global smartphone market after the iPhone SE.
It is said that there are over 8,000 posts regarding to the Galaxy S9 Mini on social media community Reddit.
Meanwhile, foreign media said Samsung Electronics is highly likely to launch the Galaxy S9 series in February next year, which is a month or two earlier than the usual.
