The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on November 5 that this year’s Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) takes place in the third week of this month and various associated events will take place before and during the period.

The purpose of the GEW is to spread entrepreneurship so that more venture firms and startups can be better prepared for Industry 4.0 and inspired by innovation and creativity. This year, the GEW celebrates its 10th anniversary.

The Youth Bizcool Festival is scheduled for November 9 to 11 in Daegu City so adolescents can show their passion and get familiar with startup culture. On November 13, the main event of the GEW takes place at the Seoul Dragon City in the form of forums, conferences, an awarding ceremony for those who have contributed to the spread of entrepreneurship, etc.

On November 15, a workshop is held in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province. Daniel Isenberg, Professor of Entrepreneurship Practice at Babson College Executive Education, attends the workshop to provide scale-up solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and venture firms along with guidelines for job creation and local economic revitalization based on the maximum utilization of regional characteristics and their proper adaptation to the fast-changing environments of the era of Industry 4.0.
