KB Kookmin Bank announced on October 29 that it has opened a foreign exchange service center in Uijeongbu to provide convenience for foreign workers in the northern region of Gyeonggi Province.

The Uijeongbu center is the bank’s fifth foreign exchange service center after ones in Wongok-dong in Ansan, Ojang-dong in Seoul, Gimhae in South Gyeongsang Province and Gyeongan-dong in Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province.

In particular, the bank opens the center even on Sunday to provide financial services for foreign workers who have difficulties in visiting banks on weekdays considering their working conditions and regional characters.

The Uijeongbu Foreign Exchange Service Center provides financial services for both domestic and foreign customers from 9 am to 4 pm on weekday and specialized services for foreign customers only from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday such as currency exchange, remittance, opening and closing accounts, credit and debit card issuance and departure guarantee insurance provision.

Meanwhile, KB Kookmin Bank currently runs “KB ONE ASIA Overseas Remittance Service,” a specialized overseas remittance service in Asia, as well as “KB Welcome Package,” a comprehensive service for foreigners only. In addition, it provides an interpretation service for foreign workers from Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar.
