The Ministry of Strategy & Finance announced on October 22 that it holds the fourth Korea-LAC Business Summit with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) on October 23 and 24.

More than 600 persons, including South Korean and Latin American government officials and entrepreneurs and executives representing local financial institutions, are expected to attend the summit taking place at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul to discuss economic cooperation between the two regions.

Deputy Prime Minister Kim Dong-yeon is scheduled to deliver the opening address on October 23, mentioning their economic cooperation in the era of Industry 4.0, more exchange between local venture firms, startups and small firms, etc.

On October 24, approximately 250 South Korean and 100 Latin American companies have business meetings for networking and information sharing. A conference related to infrastructure development in Latin America is scheduled to be held, too. It is attended by ordering agencies such as the National Electricity Administration of Paraguay, the National Energy Commission of the Dominican Republic and the National Planning Department of Colombia.

In the meantime, the IDB and the Ministry of Strategy & Finance of South Korea have this year’s annual IDB meeting on October 25 to discuss the management of the South Korean trust fund in the IDB and their co-financing project with a size of US$300 million.
