‘Best Buy’ Refrigerators
According to industry sources on October 16, Consumer Reports recently conducted a performance test on three-door and four-door French-door refrigerators of major home appliances companies, selecting “Top 3” products. Among them were four products of LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics. A French-door refrigerator is a three-door or four-door high-capacity premium refrigerator with its upper refrigeration part and lower freezing part.
In the three-door refrigerator category, LG Electronics' LFC24770ST model achieved the highest score in all three categories -- temperature control, temperature uniformity and energy efficiency which gives the three highest points in refrigerator evaluation. The model which is relatively affordable (US$ 1,710), was chosen as the "Best Buy" product while means the best product while receiving the "Excellent" rating in the noise measurement test.
General Electric (GE) and Kenmore products were also selected as excellent products in the three-door category following LG Electronics’ refrigerator.
In the 4-door refrigerator category, Samsung Electronics also swept the top three including the Best Buy honor. "The RF28K9070SR model of Samsung Electronics received the highest score in terms of temperature maintenance and noises," Consumer Reports said. "In particular, the model is equipped with the so-called Flex Zone that can be switched between the refrigerating and freezing modes.” Consumer Reports also recommended the “Samsung Chef Collection RF34H9960S4” model, calling it the best product among large refrigerators.
"In recent years, Samsung, LG and Whirlpool have ranked high the French-door refrigerator ratings," Consumer Reports said. “While many other brands are poor in basic functions, these products showed excellent performances in terms of temperature maintenance, storage space, energy efficiency and noises."
