First Int’l Shipment
Samsung Electronics announced on October 9 that it signed a contract with Major Cineplex Group Public Co. Ltd. on October 5 (local time) to supply its Cinema LED Screens. Major Cineplex is the largest operator of movie theaters in Thailand and the contract is the first international contract for the supply of the Cinema LED Screen.
The Cinema LED Screen’s brightness is more than 10 times that of projectors in general. In addition, it adopts the High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology for a much improved contrast ratio and picture quality.
According to the contract, the first Cinema LED Screens in Thailand are scheduled to be installed in Major Cineplex Siam Paragon, which is located in Bangkok, and unveiled in February next year. The screens have a length of 10.3 meters along with a resolution of 4K.
Samsung Electronics is planning to supply its Cinema LED Screens to not only Thailand but also the United States, European countries and the other Asian countries.
