Chinese smartphone maker Huawei released a bold video taking aim at iPhone maker Apple.

Huawei posted a short video where an apple is eaten and vanishes on its official twitter account with schedules of the launches of "Huawei Mate 10" and Huawei Mobile AI, CNBC reported on September 18 (local time).

Then, "Have you been disappointed? I have come up with a real surprise beyond what you saw," the twitter account said, adding that Huawei will take the wrap off a new smartphone on October 16.

Another video that Huawei posted on Facebook is even more explicit. In this video, Huawei ridicules Apple by saying, “Face ID, a core function of the iPhone X does not work. Huawei will come up with a real AI phone,” according to CNBC.  

Huawei plans to unveil the world's first high-performance mobile chipset 'Kirin 970' with a built-in AI processing unit next month. The chipset uses an NPU, a processor dedicated to neural network operations so is 25 times faster than conventional CPUs.

Meanwhile, Huawei which had ranked third in global smartphone market share after Samsung Electronics and Apple ranked second in the world over the past two months, relegating Apple. According to market researcher Counterpoint Research, Huawei outdid Apple with a market share of more than 10% in June and July of this year.
