A mobile POS system introduced by AmorePacific for the first time in the Korean cosmetics industry nabbed an excellence award in the field of comprehensive digital opportunity creation at the 2017 e-Asia Awards hosted by the UN/CEFACT and AFACT.

The eASIA Awards is an e-business award program conducted by the UN’s AFACT under the CEFACT of the UN for the elimination of information technology gaps and for the promotion of trade in the Asia-Pacific region. The award ceremony was held at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) in Taiwan from September 11 to 13.

The mobile POS system developed and introduced by AmorePacific is a new-concept sales system to realize the digitization of retail stores. The mobile system itself incorporates bar code reading sensors, card payment slots, cameras, etc., enabling a sales process from inquiries into customers and the issuance of tabs on a non-stop basis.

In addition, the system can also provide Alipay and WeChat Pay payment services for foreigners, make tax refunds immediately after reading passports, offer services of an SMS electronic receipt system jointly developed with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and is protected by various security programs (MDN, VPN) for the protection of customer information among others.

Since May of this year, the system has been tentatively used at Aritaum, Etude, and eSpoir stores in Seoul, and will be expand to stores all over the nation in the future.
