Daesang Corp. announced on September 14 that the company donated 40 million won (US$36,000) in a donation ceremony to promote the rights of children in Indonesia.

The company has been sponsoring the Indonesian Children's Rights Promotion Project in concert with NGO Good Neighbors every year since 2014. So far, about 190 million won (US$171,000) has been accumulated..

The purpose of the birth certificate registration project is to help promote children’s rights to survive, be protected, develop, participate, and guarantee the rights of children safely within legal boundaries. Last year, 1,050 children were reported for birth certificates. In addition, all family members of the child were given resident registration cards and family cards.

The 'Indonesian Children's Day Campaign' is an awareness campaign aimed at children and local people, taking into consideration the fact that residents outside of Jakarta do not agree on the purposes of Children's Day.

Funds for this project were raised through the 'Salary Donation System' which donates 100 won to less than 10,000 won (US$90) of salaries of eligible employees.

In the meantime, Daesang Corp. established a special relationship with Indonesia by founding PT. Miwon Indonesia and exporting plants for the first time in Korea in 1973.
