Dong-A Socio Holdings announced on August 17 that Dong-A Pharmaceutical signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the supply of birth control pills with the population and family planning department under the Ministry of Health of Vietnam at the headquarters in Seoul on the 16th.

The signing ceremony was attended by officials including Dong-A Socio Holdings President Han Jong-hyun, Dong-A Pharmaceutical President Choi Ho-jin, Professor Cho Young-tae of Seoul National University’s School of Public Health and Vo Thanh Dong, deputy director of Vietnam’s population and family planning department.

Under the agreement, Dong-A Pharmaceutical will supply birth control pills to the Vietnamese government and provide local sales representatives with education programs about the products and marketing strategies. In addition, the population and family planning department plans to register the products in Vietnam and sell the products through its 170,000 sales representatives in 62 states across the country.

With the latest MOU, Dong-A Socio Group is planning to expand its business to the Vietnamese market with Dong-A ST’s prescription-based medicines as well as Dong-A Pharmaceutical’s dietary supplements, non-prescription medicines and chronic disease treatments under the leadership of Dong-A Socio Holdings.
