DIA TV, which is a broadcasting TV channel to support individual creators run by South Korean entertainment giant CJ E&M, has consolidated its position as a global leader beyond Asia’s largest player in four years after starting the business in July 2013.

CJ E&M announced on August 2 that DIA TV partnered with 1,300 individual creators, had 110 million broadcasting subscribers and over 1.5 billion monthly views as of the end of July. The figures are the largest among Asia’s individual creator supporting broadcasting TV channels.

The company set the DIA TV’s goals this year, including job creation by increasing the value of creators as a specialized occupation, acceleration of global market advance, market expansion by vitalizing and diversifying creator-related industries. DIA TV is planning to strengthen its role as a hub that connects one-man creators, businesses and viewers.

DIA TV has provided exclusive studios, taught video making techniques and music and contents distribution know-how, managed copyrights, supported subtitles in many languages and advertisements and sponsorships in order to foster popular creators like “The Great Library.” As a result, DIA TV has seven creators with more than 1 million subscribers, including Dave, Banzz, Ssin Nim, 1MILLION, ToyMonster and Heopop as well as The Great Library. It also has 33 creators with 500,000 subscribers and 75 creators with 300,000 subscribers.

DIA TV has been producing broadcast videos with 1,300 creators up to now and plans to expand the number of partnering creators to 2,000 by the end of this year.

It will also seek to push into the global market in earnest. The cumulative views of contents produced by DIA TV’s partnering creators based on YouTube in the past four years reached 25.3 billion in total. More than 600 million views, accounting for about 40 percent of the total, occurred in other countries, not South Korea. DIA TV will also increase the number of global creators to 600 by the end of this year, taking up 30 percent of the total.
