New Chairman
Hyosung Group Chairman Cho Hyun-joon was appointed to be CEO of the company during a board meeting on July 20. After the transition, the group will be led by Cho Hyun-joon and Kim Kyoo-young, chief technology officer and president of the company.
The appointment was made as Hyosung has achieved its best performances in the last two years and the management systems have been stabilized under Chairman Cho Hyun-joon. It is also part of its plan to strengthen responsible management led by Cho.
Cho has contributed to reforming the group’s performance-centered organizational structure, improving the management systems and expanding the global market power in its core businesses, including spandex and tire cord, heavy industry and information and communication.
During his inaugural address in January, Cho said he would inherit the technology-centered management philosophy of former chairman Cho Suck-rai and build business competences to the highest level in the world through communication and listening attentively.
