LG CNS is known to sell its ATM business division to focus more on the competence in software rather than hardware.

In regard to the sale of its automated teller machine (ATM) business unit, LG CNS said, “Nothing has confirmed or decided yet. We still sell our products, carry out marketing campaigns, manufacture products and provide technical support and other services to domestic and overseas customers.”

For the ATM business, LG CNS stably runs more than 30,000 units at numerous large banks and various financial institutions at home and more than 10,000 units in 10 other countries around the world after exporting its spill control-type ATMs and TCRs.

Last year, the company supplied Smart ATM, which contains the biometric authentication technology, to BNK Busan Bank. It has introduced new products corresponding to the latest financial IT technologies, including non-face-to-face real name transaction systems, and provided total services converging with its financial SI capacities.

Meanwhile, industry watchers said that LG CNS is planning to sell its ATM business division to focus more on the competence in software rather than hardware. It is part of its plan to improve the management efficiency and strengthen the business competitiveness in order to jump into “the leader in digital transformation.”
