Mirae Asset Global Investments announced on July 13 that the net assets of Mirae Asset Global Exchange ETF which advanced into sixteen countries including Korea, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, the United States and Colombia, broke through the US$15 billion milestone (US$15.463 billion).

The amounts of ETFs listed in foreign countries such as Hong Kong, Colombia, and the US have exceeded 700 billion won (US$630 million), including 6.9 trillion won (US$6.2 billion) of Horizon ETFs in Canada, 6.3 trillion won of Korea’s Tiger ETF and 3.9 trillion won (US$3.5 billion) of Australia's Beta Shares.

Mirae Asset Global ETF ballooned by more than 3.3 trillion (US$2.9 billion) last year. This year, the EFT has been growing by inflating by 500 billion won (US$450 million) in Korea and 900 billion won (US$810 million) each in Canada and Australia and 100 billion won (US$90 million) each in Hong Kong and the United States.

According to ETFGI, a global ETF research firm, Mirae Asset Global ETF ranked 23rd in terms of net asset volume among global financial institutions as of the end of May. At present, 294 companies are operating 5024 ETFs at 68 exchanges with the volume of about US$3.9 trillion.

Mirae Asset Global Investments entered global markets by listing the “KOSPI 200 ETF” on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, a first for a Korean management company and taking over Horizon ETFs, a leading ETF management company in Canada in 2011.
